Seadog is in the hospital for an ordeal optimistically called minor surgery. If all goes well, he'll be back tomorrow, if not...

He Thinks This Is a McDonalds
The beautiful little guy pictured below is a Dark-Eyed Junco. He makes a stop at the bird feeder on occasion. He is also quite content feeding on seeds that have dropped to the ground. Perchance his philosophy is: to waste not, want not.

Signs
Have you noticed how signs have proliferated in our society? Signs are everywhere. I wonder if the early settlers here in Kentucky posted signs. Perhaps the signs read: “No Indians Allowed.” “No Arrow Shooting”. “Go Back Where You Came From.” “No Cell Phones.” The photo below show a sign posted just inside the entrance to an otherwise nice park about a block from my residence. I think the message really means that we prefer you stay home.

Weeds
They classify dandelions as a weed but I think they are beautiful. When I was a kid everyone had lots of dandelions but now we have the exterminators do their thing and now no dandelions. I am not sure that is progress.
Smoke Dreams
A coffee break and a smoke. The picture below brings back fond memories of when I was a smoker and a coffee drinker. It was a fantastic way to meditate; a important way to dream of one’s accomplishments; a wonderful way to regroup before facing the obstacles that the day may bring. I treasured the moment.

Barbed Wire
Time does not like a fence. In Robert Frost’s poem “Mending Wall” he observes “Something there is that doesn’t love a wall, That wants it down.” The fence in the photo below obviously has seen better days and perchance something wants it down. Is it true, as Frost says that good fences make good neighbors?

A Barbed-Wire Fence
I know the world is full of important happenings and events. There is a war going on and people are dying. There are blogs to report on those events, but mine is not one of them. The picture below is of a barbed-wire fence. It is not important, it is just a fence.

The Eyes Have It
Among my photographic files perhaps there are none more powerful and poignant than the photos below. To me, the pictures are memorable because of the mysterious quality of the eyes. In the photos, each of the girls apparently has the ability to bore through the façade of detritus we establish so people would not perceive what phonies we are. Perchance it’s only my imagination. How do the photos affect you?

Spring Is Here
Spring is a delightful time of year. The picture of the couple below was taken from afar so as not to disturb their private world. There are times when a private world is essential.

Rain
The area enjoyed a few days of pleasant temperatures followed by a couple days of rain and gloom. Not everything thought the rain was negative however, as the plants pictured below appeared to lapping up the moisture like my Uncle Louis gulps his beer.

Sunrise
Daybreak in the tall grass results in a diverse and fantastic view of the world. The wind creates a subtle movement and the earth becomes unique. It is good to be alive.

Spring
The nice weather of the past few days brought people out to do their thing. The picture below shows the neighbothood gang discussing important things such as trucks and fishing. While a block away, a young girl was flying her kite. Life had returned to the neighborhood.
